365 Day Photo Project 48/365

I noticed this flowering tree in my garden for the first time this week. Not a very good testimony to my powers observation, I know. A call to my neighbour, Andre confirmed the identity of this sweet smelling beauty and Mr Google supplied the following information.  According to the Wikipedia Dais cotinifolia, also known as the Pompom Tree is a small Southern African tree.It flowers profusely during the summer months and produces a multitude of pink, sweet-scented, globular flowerheads about 10 cm across.

This is what it looks like from a distance.
